freddo '... Good riddance to him and his stuck up wife and I hope that the congregation he's gone to as "just another elder nobody" has a body of elders that bring him down a peg or two..'
Or three.
during our wt life we met a good number of friends involved in the circuit and district work.
i am sure that we share the same experience and that we remember fondly some that we caring, loving and generally interested in the brothers.
at the same time we might remember others that were arrogant, selfish, abusive and oppressive.

Or three.
my ex-wife actually opened up to me today over the phone.
she was quite anxious and, i could sense, i little upset.
for those that dont know my situation im separated from my wife.
shadow
' ...Married 7 years then new girlfriend within only 4 months??? I feel sorry for your wife... '
That's 'new girlfriend' not 'new wife'.
i'm at home and hear knock on door , i sneak and look i see two men and recognise one voice and go back into lonunge and ask wife ( who is inactive believer) does she want to speak to elders ,she says no ,then literally 3 minutes has pasted another knock the 3 minutes seemed like an eternity.
so brave heart me think fuck it i'll answer ,i invite them in for coffee, i recognise one older man he is a unique elder who i genuinely was fond of when i was in his name is andrew ,the other guy i didn't recognise we will call harry ( not real name australia doesn't have that many cos with his same name).
so i think to myself i will tread lightly and not cause to much of a fuss for the wife's sake, but my personality is very the opposite of treading lightly ,as you read my threads you will realise i'm not timid.
sorry, this may have been covered ad nauseam before, but since it is blatant double speak of the watchtower, i felt it would be good to write a reminder of that.
below is an extract where the watchtower makes an effort to point out to the royal commission that among their members there are professionals with higher education, such as doctors and lawyers.
what they conveniently fail to mention is that the wt leadership repeatedly in writing and in approved public speeches discourages, even denigrate the pursuit of higher education.
...Commission's of Inquiry often have the very best minds...
This certainly describes the ARC. It set the standard for every country. Some questioning could have been pursued to a deeper level or more aggressively, as many posters here have commented on, [this knowledge comes from years in the organization] however, the surgical precision demonstrated by Royal Commission Senior Council Angus Stewart was a model for all future Commissions. Thrilling to some, chilling to others.
so me and my wife have not been on speaking terms for about 5 weeks, and when we do .
talk…it is arguing about the jw cult and more of a barrage from me telling here all the stuff i have learned.
i know i shouldn't do this....but, i get so freaking p.o ed aobut what this cult has done to my family.
This could, conceivably, lead to her telling you to vacate the house. You need to prepare an escape plan, more like a survival plan. Prepare yourself mentally and financially. A simple insurance policy. One day she tells you it's over and your out. You end up sleeping in your Toyota, asking yourself, " what do I do now"?
Think I am kidding? You may have to learn the hard way.
so our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.
(and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.
hmmm, i wonder why!).
blondie
Not every ex-jw would know that; thanks for clear that up. The terminology changes so often (to trip up the apostates)
I disagree. Apostates are more up to date on JW terminology than anyone else.
watchtower january 2017 - par.
15 - "we live in exciting times.
the earthly part of jehovah’s organization is growing in many ways, but growth necessitates change.".
Don't forget about the growing confusion of and growing inability of the ranks to explain the teaching of overlapping generations.

They sang " Always submit to Church Administration..." 97 times.
Not nearly as often as the Watchtower society repeats it.
well, i went to the kh.... why?
i had my reasons, but i had a real nice cocktail before hand.
anyway, the talk was "why does god permit suffering?
"...Cathy [1] says: “As a single sister, I was independent and took care of myself. Marriage was an adjustment for me as I learned to rely on my husband. It has not always been easy, but we have drawn so much closer as a couple by doing things Jehovah’s way.” Her husband, Fred, says: “Making decisions was never easy for me. In marriage, taking two people into consideration adds to the challenge. But by seeking Jehovah’s guidance in prayer and really listening to my wife’s input, it gets easier every day. I feel that we are a real team!”
Apparently Cathy and Fred are a source of good advice on marriage. Unfortunately we are not given their address, phone number or any other contact information. What if we have some more marriage questions we need answered? How will we get a hold of them?
much is being said during the usa election run-up and trump-clinton debates about checking the facts of statements made by each candidate.
this is, of course, serious stuff as the direction of the countries future depends on just who is elected into office of the president of the united states of america.
not president of the local 'glee club' or the 'southside knitting society' , but, the president of the united states of america.
Makes perfect sense to all interested parties to have someone checking out each and every statement made by those two running for office and forwarding their findings to the public.
Now, turning our attention to another most important office, that of the Faithful and Discreet Slave, would it not be of interest to every Jehovah's Witnesses, worldwide, to be confident that each and every statement they utter is, in fact, true? A reasonable person [to use the often used statement of the Organization] would want to ensure that each statement was true. Therefore no one should have a valid objection to a person or persons, perhaps a well organized group of persons within the Organization, checking each and every statement of the Governing Body and reporting to the worldwide brotherhood the results they may find. This of course would require that they examine, carefully, all printed literature of the Watchtower Society, all worldly publications made reference to, as well as all records and financial accounts relating to statements made by any of the Governing Body. They could then forward their findings to all interested. This, of course, would be in their best interest as God's Word instructs every follower to make sure of each and every thing you are taught so as not to be mislead. Acts 17:11 'Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.'
My question is, What response would such a person or group receive from the Organization?
